Claire Atkinson, HOB Salons and Academy

Claire Atkinson is Head of Education at HOB Academy and a senior member of the HOB Creative Team.

One of British hairdressing's rising stars, Claire joined HOB as a junior stylist over 20 years ago. Claire is HOB through and through, and is an extremely confident and talented all-round hair stylist.

Her cutting and creative ability is a reflection of her success within the Creative Team and she is steadily building a strong profile for herself throughout the trade and consumer press. The photographic work that Claire produces receives much press coverage and has seen her win awards including the British Hairdressing Awards Eastern Region Hairdresser of the Year title and the Fellowship Gold Star Salon Image of the Year.

A commitment and passion to education sees Claire in another role as Head of Education alongside Akin Konizi at the company’s international training academy in London’s Camden Town, educating stylists throughout the group and keeping them abreast of all the latest hair trends and techniques. She also teaches a range of diverse courses year round to international students attending the academy.

Travelling around the globe as part of the HOB Creative Team to places including Brazil, Venezuela and Italy, Claire is a confident and natural stage presenter, having worked on stage at various high-profile industry events such as Salon International and for Wella Professionals Trend Vision activities. Claire has also worked backstage at high-profile fashion shows and events, such as Alternative Fashion Week in East London.

Popular with the beauty press, Claire often undertakes makeovers and photographic shoots for household titles. Her expert advice can regularly be found in the pages of the major hair, beauty and fashion titles and she has taken part in TV programmes including ITV2’s Paris Hilton’s British Best Friend.
