Help with colour correction

Dear Hair Doctor,

I recently had half head blonde highlights with a high lift tint. The tint went orange. I went back to the salon and they put more bleach on the orange so now I have very very blonde hair but still have orange at the roots. I am most upset as I hate the way it looks and need some advice where I can go from here.

Do I have to wait 6 - 8 weeks now before I can see someone to correct the colour and make my hair more natural looking?

Many thanks,

Hi there,

What I would suggest is when hair is over lightened, sometimes it's best to take a step back before rushing in.

I would first apply a tone-on-tone, ammonia-free gloss colour such as Redken Shades EQ to balance tone and replace lost pigment; this can be used to darken or tone accordingly.

Next I would very subtly and gently apply some dimension using a highlighting technique, being very careful not to put unneeded stress on the already chemically treated hair!

Hope that helps.
