Dear Hair Doctor,

My hair is falling and almost at the point of finishing.

What should I do?

Anon, Pakistan

Hi there,

Do you mean that your hair is falling out or do you mean that your hair is falling as in losing its hold? I wonder because you've said 'at the point of finishing', so is it losing its hold by the time you've got to this point?

If you let us know we can ensure you receive the correct advice but in the meantime, please find some great guidance below to help with hair loss.

Hi,

I'm not sure exactly what you mean. If you mean your hair is falling out from the root, it is advisable to visit your GP to establish what may be causing it. If you mean that your hair is breaking off, make sure you are not over-processing it with colour or heat styling. If this is the case, use a professional shampoo and conditioning treatment, and get some advice from a stylist on how to colour and/or style your hair without damaging it further.

Hiya,

If your hair has been falling out, you should go see a doctor as hair often shows the signs of any illness we could be having without us actually knowing! It could be hormonal or any number of different problems. Once you have been to a doctor, maybe try to see a good trichologist (hair and scalp doctor). They then will be able to help you get to the bottom of your hair loss worries and give you products and treatments that could help.

Hi,

Consult a doctor; it could be a medical problem like an imbalance of the thyroid gland.
