Darren Ambrose, D&J Ambrose

As a regular winner in the British Hairdressing Awards including triple success in the Avant-Garde category, Darren Ambrose has now secured his place in the British Hall of Fame, alongside some of the leading icons in the industry.

Darren’s visionary perspective on hair has also won him a global reputation and a successful salon business with wife Jackie Ambrose. Darren felt drawn to hairdressing at an early age and took up an apprenticeship as soon as he left school. He embraced his training with great passion and enthusiasm and quickly became Artistic Director, responsible for guiding the development of other young hairdressers. Darren worked hard to perfect his techniques as he knew that they would give him the skills and confidence he needed to experiment and develop his own creative approach to the craft.

In 1996 Darren and Jackie opened the doors to D&J Ambrose in Pinner where they have secured a large and loyal clientele who enjoy the welcoming environment and outstanding hairdressing quality on offer. Darren has created a brand of hairdressing that carefully blends fashion-inspired trends with beautiful, wearable hair.

Darren explains,

We train the staff non-stop, we are constantly updating their hairdressing skills to build relationships with clients and educate them about their responsibility to their own vision. We create beautiful cuts and colours then show our clients how to maintain them between visits. It’s a great investment of our time and theirs.

Darren possesses an engaging stage style, which makes him an exceptional educator. His Avant-Garde work has inspired audiences of thousands and his committed approach to beautiful cuts and colours leave audiences with plenty of commercial ideas to take back to the salon. Darren travels widely to share his skills and has been presenting shows and seminars in many cities from China and Australia to Europe.  Awards and accolades continue to roll in and Darren’s outstanding photographic and session work has been seen in countless magazines including top consumer titles such as Hello, Neon, Vivid, Cosmopolitan, Red, Company, Looks, Elle China and Vogue to name a few.
