Shaping Futures Launches More Ways to Give

Share

We are excited to announce that Shaping Futures is now a charitable foundation, with a brand new Justgiving page. With support from GivingWorks, Shaping Futures has been able to launch the Justgiving page where donations can now be made using the text SHAP37 to 70070 or donating online at www.justgiving.com/shapingfutures.

Shaping Futures began in 2008 as a local Japanese project with Cambodian street children, and has since developed into a global initiative in 2010 when Schwarzkopf Professional collaborated with SOS Children’s Villages. The programme supports young people living in developing countries by enabling them to learn hairdressing skills in order to help them find a job and earn a living. Schwarzkopf Professional supports the charity by providing skilled trainers and necessary tools such as model heads, products and appliances.

Justgiving was founded in London in 2001 and has since helped 164 countries raise over $3.3 billion for a range of causes, including Cancer Research and Great Ormond Street Hospital. It has been voted the best giving platform 2014 and has 22 million users, providing charities and individuals with the platform to make and receive donations through online, one-off or monthly payments with multiple currencies.

Shaping Futures Ambassador Janet Maitland says,

We are committed to raising more funds for this wonderful charity. As well as taking our skills to impart to the SOS villages around the world, this new avenue for donations means that the young adults we help, in turn, can drive their own lives forward and in doing so, give them a future that they would never have dreamed of.

With the support of GivingWorks and JustGiving, the prospects of Shaping Futures can only be bigger and better. Project Manager Tiffany McLean says,

I am so pleased to announce after all this time Shaping Futures is now a proper foundation - all that hard work has paid off!
