Five Star Good Salon Guide salon The Cutting Corner is owned by Jez Barnett, who began his hairdressing career in Knightsbridge in 1982. He developed his skills at The Cutting Corner for five years before going to work in Bermuda, returning fifteen months later to manage The Cutting Corner, where he developed the company’s award-winning training systems and philosophies. In 2001, he was awarded the prestigious Investors in People for the salon. Jez has also worked with Wella demonstrating their products, is a former Artistic Director for the National Hairdressers Federation’s London Artistic Group and has also had his creations published in Hairdressers Journal and other hair magazines.
The Cutting Corner has built an outstanding reputation for training and works very closely with other local salons to boost the standards of training in the area. They have been shortlisted four times for the Business Excellence Awards and hope to win the award this year.
Aspiring to create a posh and funky salon that reflects their logo, The Cutting Corner’s look is minimal yet still inviting. Incorporating silver and purple into the design, the salon is fully air-conditioned and has a beautifully-designed large reception area, featuring white leather seating, a 42” Plasma television and a reception desk with in-built glass display.
Refreshments are provided in the form of Cappuccino and Espresso coffee, which is served in branded coffee cups with mints, and the salon aspires to serve the best coffee in town!
The Cutting Corner’s objective is
“To create the Ultimate Hairdressing Experience…and then improve it!”
