Supporting the Next Generation of Stylists

Welcome to our very first Good Salon Guide blog! And what a way to start as we share our fantastic experience judging work produced by young hairdressers from across the South East.

Last week our editor, Jodie Withers, was among a panel of all female judges, selecting finalists in the Central Hairdressing Academy/Joshua Galvin Academy apprentice photographic competition.

This year, Good Salon Guide has sponsored this long standing contest which is open to all trainees working with Central/JG. The competition encourages those at the start of their career to really push the boundaries when it comes to creativity and the standard of entries this year was outstanding.

Jodie joined British Hairdresser of the year Beverly C MBE; Good Salon Guide members Lisa Whiteman and Karoliina Saunders and Indola Ambassador Chanel Nott to make the final selection.

It was encouraging to see young stylists from Good Salon Guide salons make the final cut and the grand finals will take place in September at The Bethnal Green Town Hall. Congratulations to everyone who entered and especially those who will represent their salons at the grand final. Good luck!
