After having my hair highlighted with a colour I hated I want to go a natural golden brown shade, but will the orange tone stay?

Share

Hello,

Two months ago my hairdresser put some honey highlights through my hair which I hated, one, because I had asked for natural golden brown highlights that would not have that orange hue, and two, because the contrast with my natural hair colour was too intense for my taste. (I have a light brown base).

I now want to dye my hair a natural golden brown shade, but I'm afraid that the orange hue will stay. What should I do?

Thank you,

Mary, Cyprus

Honey, golden brown, toffee and caramel are all in the same tonal family of warm browns. The undercoat you see when these shades are applied to the hair are all orange or orange yellow. I think if you want your hair a natural golden brown and don't like orange tones then maybe you need to rethink your choice of colour.

I would go and have a consultation with a colourist who enjoys colour correction work and can advise you on the best shade for you.
