I am suffering with sudden hair loss, what could be causing this?

Share
Hi Doctors,
I have had many hair issues lately and I need some help. My scalp is dry and my hair becomes greasy really fast. What can I do to help relieve my dry scalp and prevent my hair from becoming greasy?
My hair is fine, long and thinning. I have been taking birth control for seven years and believe it has caused my hair to thin out. Lately, I can feel random plucks on my scalp, like a hair strand had detached itself, I know that sounds strange!
I noticed all the hair that is falling out are new strands (baby strands) and mostly from the top front of my scalp. Do you know what type of hair loss I am suffering from and any advice to help?
I need all the help I can get,
Thank You! Nicole, USA

Hair loss can be caused by a number of factors, but importantly the health of our hair and scalp is a good indicator of our general health. I would visit a doctor or dermatologist/trichologist and they will be able to give you a clearer picture of what might be going on.
