I have coloured my hair the same as always but this time it has gone really dark, why is this?

Hi,

I have been getting my hair coloured by my hairdresser for a while. Recently I have started using Moroccan Oil and when I last got my hair coloured again it went dark because it rejected the tones in my hair.

Do you have any idea why this would have happened and is this the Moroccan Oil?

Thank you,

The main ingredient in Moroccan Oil that gives hair its shine and softness is Argan Oil which is derived from the kernels of the Argan tree. It is quite safe to use with coloured hair and I have never experienced anyone having problems with their colour result whilst using it.

If you have been having the same colour applied to your hair for some time (I am guessing it is dark brown or something similar) and each time it is applied it is done from roots to ends then you maybe have colour build up. This is when the ends of the hair are over coloured and develop a thing we call cuticle stain. The hair becomes over saturated with artificial pigment and just looks dull and dark with no tone.

Also if your hairdresser suggested a change in colour or used a different one, then it may be down to their colour choice and that is the reason for the unwanted result.
