I recently had my roots coloured but they turned out brassy, why is this?

My usual salon coloured my grey roots orangey instead of brown, so I went to a Good Salon Guide salon and explained what happened but after paying almost £80.00 I still ended up with brassy roots.

Could you please tell me what is going wrong and how can this be corrected?

This problem sounds like a simple case of wrong colour choice and application. Unfortunately once there has been a strong reflect applied to the hair it needs to be removed by a colourist - after this your hair can be coloured to your desired shade.

Try and see if your salon keeps records of what colours are applied to their clients, this way there should be no mistakes when returning for a retouch of the same shade.
