Krysia Eddery, salon owner of Perfectly Posh in Hungerford embarked on an exciting opportunity with Aveda to style at London Fashion Week.

As an Aveda salon, Krysiawas given the opportunity to participate in the brand’s Runway Styling course, which led to a hectic backstage experience at London Fashion Week. Only being done once in the UK before, Runway Styling is huge in America and has enabled many stylists to take part backstage at New York Fashion Week.

Run by session stylist Jon Reyman, the course is carried out over two days at the London Aveda Academy where stylists got to grips with runway styling and sharpening up their basic skills. A month later and it’s off to London Fashion Week working alongside lead stylists in some of the weekends biggest shows.

The shows that Krysia worked on were, Roberta Einer led by Bea Watson, Sabinna Led by Zac Fennell, and Cimone and Huishan Zhang led by Jon Reyman. Speaking on her experience, Krysia said,

I had never done anything like this before and so it was all new to me. I didn't know what to expect, but we all became great teammates and I made some great acquaintances.

The techniques I learnt and the speed and pace of it all were fun. Salon life is so different, but this experience really brought back my passion for the industry and it really allowed me to be expressive in my work – something you don’t always get to do in-salon.

Not only has it been inspirational for me, my team now have the session styling bug and want to do it too, which I would love for them to experience. The techniques I learnt I have brought back to the salon, carrying out our own Fashion Week training.

I now have the opportunity to work with Aveda to help them build their own artistic team, and I also hope to be doing London Fashion Week again this year and New York Fashion Week in 2018.

Krysia also has a forever memory with her Fashion Week work in the form of two global publications, with the Sabinna show featuring in Vogue and Elle US.
