Congratulations to Anne Veck Hair Salons who was nominated by local school Wheatley Park to receive an 'Investors in Education Award' on Friday 24th June  at Oxford Brookes University School of Business for their "continued support as a major contributor in the development of our students by providing valuable work experience opportunities".

Anne Veck Hair salon has mentored and guided Wheatley Park’s students over the years; providing three or four students from local schools  with one-week work placements in the salon environment for them to have the better opportunity to harness and develop their personal and professional skills. To demonstrate how necessary mentoring is at seamlessly manoeuvring young people from school to the workforce, two of Wheatley Park’s students are now graduate stylists for Anne Veck whilst the other will go on to qualify as a hairdresser this autumn.

The awards are organised each year by a partnership of local businesses and schools called the Oxfordshire Business Education Alliance. The Investors in Education Awards are given to a select number of employers each year who have gone above and beyond what is required of them to transform Work Experience into Work Inspiration. Nominated by the schools themselves, this prestigious award acknowledges the support and dedication of employers supporting the workforce of tomorrow.

Anne Veck Hair Salons were presented by Head Teacher of Wheatley Park School Kate Curtis and Professor Peter Dobson, Director of Begbroke Science park and nanotechnology innovator.
