Balmain Paris Hair Couture presents the Spring-Summer 2017 Campaign, starring Jon Kortajarena and Luz Pavon, shot by Jean-Baptiste Mondino, under the direction of Balmain Hair Creative Director, Nabil Harlow.

The new Spring/Summer 2017 campaign is all about powerful men and women who dare to choose a certain look. It’s inspired by the late 70s. I wanted to create a new statement look for Balmain Hair that’s easy to wear, an accessible look that can be easily created using the Balmain Hair product range. Luz is my muse for this season, she is the definition of modernity and what fashion is all about, says Nabil Harlow. Luz Pavon has previously worked both on the Hair Perfume campaign for Balmain Hair and the trend collection for Autumn/Winter 2015.

Jon is one of the few models of his generation who looks stylish and very raw at the same time. His hair is amazing and I loved playing with the textures! He is also very passionate about hair as he grew up surrounded by hairstylists; his mother has a salon in Spain and has always cut his hair. I am so grateful that he trusted me on this project. Together they are the perfect couple representing the vision of Balmain Hair this year. They are both strong and sexy and communicate with the audience, and through them I want to help make Balmain Hair accessible to everyone.

Look: Jon Kortajarena

For Jon’s look, Nabil Harlow used Texturizing Volume Spray together with the Matt Paste to create a natural looking hold with maximum volume, whilst still being able to restyle it for the next look.

Look: Luz Pavon

For Luz’s look, Nabil Harlow worked with the new Professional Ceramic Curling Iron to create the endless curls inspired by the 70s, and then applied some Styling Powder to create massive volume at the roots. To add more definition to the curls, he used the Curl Cream and Argan Moisturizing Elixir to keep the hair shiny and in great condition.

Expert tip 1: Not enough volume for massive curls? Don’t worry! Just use a Hair Dress Memory® Hair, curling the Hair Dress before applying the same texture as if you curled the natural hair.

Expert tip 2: If your hair is layered, you can pin-up your own length at the back to make your look shorter.
