Bev Boseley-Yemm Shaves Her Head For Charity

Share

On the 27th November Managing Director of Leeds Academy for Hairdressing and Barbering (LAFHAB) Bev Boseley-Yemm did something only a handful of us would be brave enough to go through with - shaving her entire head for charity!

Bev previously worked at Wheatfields Hospice for many years as an auxiliary nurse and even though it was hard at times she loved her work. Whilst there Bev used to organise fundraising events but hasn’t had the chance since leaving, until now where she grabbed the chance at a sponsored head shave! Bev said before the shave,

It really is a great place and I am hoping with your help I can raise as much money for them as possible!

The services provided at Wheatfield’s are;
Inpatient care
Family support (including bereavement support)
Community clinical nurse specialist
Complementary therapies
Spiritual care
Day therapy and outpatient services

Simon Shaw – European Artistic Director at Wahl – was the guy nominated to carry out the deed. The academy can’t thank Simon enough for kindly donating his time, he even stayed after to sign some posters for both students and staff which was great!

On the day LAFHAB hosted a tombola to help raise those few extra pounds, and L’Oréal Professionnel were also kind enough to donate some products which were given away as prizes! Overall it was a very inspirational day at the academy with a lively buzz and atmosphere.

Bev has raised £550 so far but there is still time to donate if you wish to do so by either popping into LAFHAB or you can go online to www.justgiving.com/Bev-Boseley-Yemm.

All the photos from the day are on LAFHAB’s Facebook and Twitter pages and you can check out a video of the day by visiting their you tube channel www.youtube.com/LAFHAB.
