Frankie Cocozza has trended on twitter after Jamie Stevens, twice British Men’s hairdresser of the Year and nominee for 2012 British Hairdresser of the Year, cut off his trademark long hair at his new salon in Kensington.

Frankie went for the chop after saying,

I’m really nervous, but there’s only so many comments about having dirty, greasy hair you can take… I've had long hair since I was 12 and the time had come to change it – it’s summer, it’s hot and I’m ready for something new. I also wanted to raise money for the charity set up for my best friend Connor who died 2 months ago. I’m really pleased with how it looks and the response has been great.

Jamie, Global Ambassador for Matrix haircare said,

Everybody wanted me to cut Frankie’s hair when he was on The X Factor but it was a real part of him and when you’re going on stage in front of millions of people the last thing you need is your confidence stripped away. He’s a good looking boy though and I always thought he’d suit a more groomed style. I've done his hair and his eyebrows and he looks great.
