This weekend saw the return of the highly anticipated HOB Awards! Over 600 staff, industry press and VIP guests joined together to celebrate the 2014 HOB Awards on Sunday 25th May, held at the renowned HMV Forum in Kentish Town. Sponsored by product partners Wella Professionals, alongside Alterna, ghd and Shortcuts, the evening rewarded and recognised the dedication and hard work of staff throughout the company.

Returning to this amazing venue which has played host to stars including Kaiser Chiefs, Snow Patrol and Coldplay to name a few, HOB transformed the renowned music venue into a spectacular theatre style arena with a VIP section for press and special guests.

Compère for the evening, Sean Dawson started the night by welcoming guests to the event, playing a showreel highlighting the company’s achievements from the last two years before an opening speech by the HOB Directors, touching on their numerous award wins but mostly acknowledging their successful franchisees, office staff, support from the industry and of course their amazing salon teams.

With the awards ceremony underway, Sean and the HOB Directors, Akin Konizi, Clive Collins and Paul Simbler, as well as special guests presented a total of 18 awards. Categories ranged from the 'Assistant Award' through to 'Most Improved Salon', with further special recognition awards which were given to acknowledge the outstanding work of all whom play a fundamental role in the development and growth of the company.

The eagerly awaited 'Manager Award' went to Nataleah Brandy of HOB Salons Loughton, shortly followed by the 'Franchisee Award', which was given to West Hampstead’s Robert Edwards by The Fellowship for British Hairdressings Patron of Honour, Ann Herman. The ultimate award of the evening – 'Salon Award' saw the Camden salon team take to the stage to collect their trophy!

With the awards complete and excitement brimming, the bar was opened and canapés were served as the DJ took to the decks, the dance floor filled and staff celebrated until the early hours of the morning.

Speaking about the event, Daniel Minney, Managing Director of Wella UK and Ireland said,

Wella has been a long standing business supporter of HOB Salons and their awards are no exception. Rewarding and recognising teams and individuals is hugely important to instilling passion and dedication. Congratulations HOB Salons on a great event!

Prestige Account Manager for Alterna UK, Karen Headington also prevailed good thoughts on the evening and the relationship they share with HOB by saying,

Passionate and professional people to do business with, we are proud to be associated with HOB Salons, and what a fantastic evening it was.

Reflecting on the evening’s events, HOB Director Paul Simbler said,

Following another amazingly successful two years, we had a LOT to celebrate tonight! We are incredibly proud of all our achievements but most of all, our people whom without, none of this would be possible. The HOB Awards are about acknowledging and rewarding the hard work and commitment of our team, bringing everyone together and this is the perfect chance for the three of us to say thank you to our team and those that have been key in helping us get to where we are today!
