The inimitable Christophe Robin has announced the launch of CARE X STYLE, the brand’s first styling products. CARE X STYLE is designed to improve the condition of hair over time, while offering styling benefits.

CARE X STYLE comprises of Luscious Curl Cream with Flaxseed Oil, an omega and fatty acid-rich formula to nurture and define curls, and Anti-Frizz Rescue Milk with Shea Butter, which is anti-inflammatory and rich in fatty acids to soothe the scalp and fortify the hair before blow-drying, for softness and shine. Since the beginning of his career, Christophe Robin has developed his products with a strong emphasis on maintaining the hair’s health. Hair prone to frizz tends to be damaged. The outermost part of the hair is the cuticles, which are composed of scales forming a protective barrier around the hair. When the scales are sealed, hair is healthy and strong; able to defend itself against external aggressors. When the scales are lifted, external factors are able to penetrate and harm the hair fibre making hair porous, vulnerable and dull. As a result, it is more difficult for the hair to protect itself against environmental stressors such as pollution, weather changes or artificial heat - meaning these aggressors are harming the hair fibre while nutrition is locked out. Curly hair is very fragile, as it is naturally dry. When hair is curly, the sebaceous glands, responsible for the production of sebum, are smaller. Sebum is often only linked to oily scalps and hair, however it also plays a very important role in maintaining the hair’s health. As the sebum glides through the hair, it nourishes the lengths, creating an innate, nourishing barrier. For curly hair, less sebum is secreted, which means less nutrition is produced. Due to the hair’s spiral shape, the sebum is not able to fully reach the lengths and ends, hence hair cuticles stay open and lack nutrition.
