Colour Project Get Back to Nature

Share

The Fellowship for British Hairdressing's Colour Project recently spent a day at the RUSH Academy in London with their team mentor - and RUSH International Creative Director - Chris Williams.

Chris started the day with a presentation highlighting some of his award-winning work, as well as information about the theory of colour and how different shades complement each other on the colour wheel. The team then gained Chris’s insight into consultation, discussing how to find out whether someone is a cool or warm skin tone by eye colour, veins and hairlines. Then, they presented their latest research; this time, into the inspirations of nature on colour, print and pattern.

Chris then demonstrated how to bring those ideas to life with a demo of colour placement on a block, before the team brought their ideas to life with a practical session, experimenting with blonde wefts to create innovative printing effects - ranging from checks to free-hand lines and swirls. Team member Sara Williams says:

The day was a great mix of skills to take back to salon day to day life, and exciting techniques. The day will really help when we’re thinking of new ideas for future shoots and creating creative images without having to colour your model’s hair.
