Colour Project X Christel Lundqvist

Share

The Colour Project Team headed to the beautiful Scandinavian inspired STIL Salon in Notting Hill, London to spend the day with salon owner and colour genius Christel Lundqvist, talking all things trends and fashion forecasting.

Christel was joined by Warren Boodaghians, Craig Clarke and Gen Itoh from TIGI for the morning session. This day-long colour rush consisted of a colour demo, teaching the team the fundamentals, and a showcase of trend techniques. The brilliantly inspiring Christel gave engaging educational insight into the process of identifying trends and how to translate them into salon relevant hair, such as the resurgence of 80’s and 90’s vibes in the form of bold ‘brights’ and contrasting colours with a touch of elegance.

In true Fellowship fashion, the session was designed to open the floor to ask questions, delve into the world of Christel and trends and take advantage of being able to learn from this colour genius.

The team were super-inspired and in the afternoon they loved the chance to get their hands on hair swatches and block heads and let their creativity run wild. Christel encouraged them to experiment with different mixtures of colour and free their ideas, creating anything that they felt like creating whilst she worked the room, guiding and complementing them on their skills.

The day finished with each team member presenting a mood board based on the next big trends they saw emerging.

I really enjoyed everything about this day! The atmosphere was very comfortable and I was so inspired by the way they create their own collections, as this is something I would love to do with my salon in the future, so I feel that they’ve given me some direction. The Colour Project Team is getting closer every time we get together, which makes it even more of an amazing experience!

Christel and her team were so engaging and kept our interest from start to finish. It was a real honour to be able to spend the day with them. It was by far one of the best master classes that I’ve attended throughout my whole career!
