What inspired you to become a hairdresser?
My Auntie is a hairdresser, and from a young age I enjoyed assisting her – she really inspired me to pursue this career.
Tell us a bit about your training journey.
I tried a couple of salons before I joined Teresa Weller Hair Art three years ago. I began my apprenticeship in-salon for a year with a training company that came to us, then spent two more years at college in Guildford to complete my qualifications.
Have you done any specialist training?
Yes – Teresa has supported me with incredible training opportunities through Revlon Professional. Colour work has been a major focus, and I’ve learnt so much. To be honest, learning colour is like learning a whole new language – it was the hardest part of my training, but also the most mind-blowing. Thanks to Revlon’s education and hands-on salon experience, I now feel confident tailoring colour to each individual client.
I’ve also completed specialist training in Rapture, Great Lengths and Combline hair extensions, so I’m fully qualified to offer extension services too – whether it’s for volume, length or a full transformation.
Any exciting milestones recently?
Absolutely – Teresa encouraged me to enter the Colour Genius Awards this year. I was selected as one of just five finalists in the entire country! I didn’t win, but being recognised in the top five in the UK was an amazing experience.
What has working in the salon taught you?
Being on the salon floor with the incredibly talented team at Teresa Weller Hair Art has been amazing – I’ve learned so much by observing and assisting. Teresa has really supported my development, giving me the time, space and love to grow into a stylist.
How would you describe your approach to hairdressing?
I’m hands-on and love a challenge. I’ve always been a practical worker, and I enjoy creating transformations that make a difference for clients.
Favourite service to perform?
Big colour changes. Seeing the client’s face light up after a bold transformation is so fulfilling.
Go-to product for amazing results?
I love using the Revlon Balayage Cream – It has heat protection; UV protection and it leaves hair super shiny and protected with its amazing ingredients.
What kind of looks do you enjoy creating?
Anything with movement – I love working on layered hair to create bouncy, flicky styles.
How do you make sure your clients leave happy?
I take extra time during consultations to really listen to what my client wants. It’s important to me that we’re aligned and they leave feeling confident and beautiful.
What would you say to someone nervous about seeing a new stylist?
You’ll be in safe hands – we always take time to talk through your vision first and make sure you feel completely comfortable before we begin.
Why should someone book with you now?
I’ve just qualified, I’m full of fresh energy, and I’m ready to build my client base. I’m bringing new ideas, solid training, and a genuine care for making every client feel their best.
