Hairdressing royalty celebrated in style on Monday 1st September, as leading industry magazine Creative HEAD crowned the winners of its Most Wanted and It List Awards in a sold-out ceremony at Tate Modern, London, hosted by comedian Jack Whitehall.

700 VIPs from the world of hair, fashion and media, including the beauty and health editor of Vogue, Jessica Diner, and BeautyMART co-founder Millie Kendall MBE, looked on as eleven of the UK’s top hairdressing individuals and teams were named as Most Wanted winners, and the careers of six fresh new It List stars were sent into the stratosphere.

The noise was deafening as winners including ‘IT GIRL’ Ashleigh Hodges from Flame Hair Studios, Towcester, ‘IT GUY’ Richard Phillipart from Boutique Salon and Spa, Ellesmere Port, and Sam McKnight, who scooped the coveted Most Wanted HAIR ICON trophy, took to the stage. Creative HEAD’s awards are considered the coolest in the hairdressing industry, attracting entries from hundreds of salons across the UK.

It List sponsor, leading hair brand ghd, ensured that it was more than just the winners who got lucky, as perfectly coiffed hostesses gifted spot prizes worth hundreds of pounds to the most glamorous guests. To round off the night, the star-studded crowd sipped cocktails at the legendary after-party, toasting the winners’ success at the awards, which was universally hailed as the best yet.

Creative HEAD publisher Catherine Handcock said,

British hairdressers are already acknowledged as the best in the world, so this is about celebrating the very special few who are at the pinnacle of the craft. While the It List celebrates emerging new talent, Most Wanted showcases teams and individuals who bring top quality and skill into the industry. Put the two together in one fabulous Grand Final and you get one of the most exciting nights of the hairdressing year!
