Darren Ambrose of top Pinner salon D&J Ambrose showcased the Art of Men’s Hairdressing at the prestigious Fellowship for British Hairdressing Men’s Hair Presentation.
The Masters of Men evening took place at the Alan D Academy in Farringdon where Darren gave a presentation alongside some of the biggest names in British hairdressing, chosen to demonstrate their skills and creativity on male models.
Darren’s presentation came in the first part of the evening where he, alongside Martine Fox of Scarlet Moon and Gary Forde, created a diverse mix of looks from textured to smooth. They were followed by Marcus Giametti, Ebru Alkaya and Darren Bain who created another three distinctive styles. The event concluded with an interview with Men’s Hairdresser of the Year Kevin Luchman who spoke to HJ Men editor Matthew Batham about his win. Darren said on the subject of men's hairdressing,
Men’s hairdressing is a core part of our business and is a huge market now – men have become more image conscious and aware of their direction in fashion and are willing to pay for good quality services.
Equally men are much more willing to tap into product care for their hair and maintainance, and the products available to them are much more sophisticated now, the formulations are more gentle to the hair and actually deliver what they promise.
There’s a wider choice for men and increasingly they can protect their hair for the future.
