David Koma calls upon HOB SalonsÕ expertise for London Fashion Week

As the biggest week in fashion got underway, HOB Salons’ Sean Dawson was in the midst of the madness backstage as he was requested to style the hair for the acclaimed David Koma show.

Held at Somerset House on Tuesday 21st February, Koma revealed his Autumn/Winter 2011 collection in front of the fashion-conscious audience, requesting the expertise of award-winning stylist and HOB’s General Manager Sean Dawson for the catwalk hair looks.  Heading up the Sebastian styling team, Sean worked with accessorised low-slung ponytails to complement the strong structure of Koma’s designs and imaginative clothing.

Working alongside Sebastian Cult Team member and HOB’s West Hampstead Stylist Stuart Garvey on the day, who helped style the 18 models for the runway, Sean commented:

David’s clothes were so strong in shape and definition that we wanted to create a look that incorporated fabrics such as leather and suede to give that edge, but had a balance of softness with the nape position ponytail.

Sean achieved this look in three simple steps:

Step 1: Begin by using Sebastian Taming Elixir to keep hair smooth, brushing the hair through and gathering the hair together at the nape of the neck in a low ponytail.  Secure with an elastic band.

Step 2: Using a hair weft, wrap the faux hair around the ponytail and secure in place with pins, this will ensure the length of your hair is consistent.

Step 3: Finally, incorporate a strip of suede ribbon and bring this around the crown, letting it drop down either side of the ponytail, encasing the hair.  To finish, use a piece of leather strap and bind the hair in place.  Secure the ponytail and use Sebastian Shine Define Spray to finish.
