Errol Douglas MBE, one of the world’s most influential hairdressers, was awarded a prestigious ‘2015 Ambassador of London’ award at the London Lifestyle Awards, who held their 6th Annual celebration last night at the Park Lane Hilton.

The award was given by the organisation, as Errol is considered to be a true inspiration and thought leader in his field, having opened his first hair salon in London’s Belgravia in 1998 and been awarded an MBE in 2008 for services to the industry. On his win, Errol said,

I’m incredibly honoured to be recognised by the city that I love and have lived in my whole life, where my business has thrived and my collaborations both in my own industry and in many other sectors have been incredible because of the unique opportunities London has given me. In all my business travels I am a proud representative of a city that has helped me develop through the mentors I’ve met along the way, both as an entrepreneur and as a hairdresser.

Jason Gale, founder of the London Lifestyle Awards, said,

We have amazing winners this year due to the fact that all our LLA 300 businesses are the best of the best. I was delighted to be able to present Errol with this very special award. He travels the world as an international hairdresser, not only demonstrating that London leads the world in his industry, but is a brilliant ambassador for the city as a whole.

The star studded event celebrated the very best lifestyle businesses that London offers, and earlier this year named the best 300 London Lifestyle businesses in the exclusive LLA 300. A shortlist for last night’s awards was released for a public vote on August the 4th with 197,000 votes cast. Awards were presented across 17 categories across industries such as hospitality, health and beauty and the arts, which all go to make London the greatest city in the World.

Errol is known for his spectacular photographic work, his highly respected mentor role within the industry and his established Belgravia salon with high profile clients spanning film, fashion, music and business. He has received his 19th consecutive nomination for British Hairdresser of the Year, is the former president of the British Fellowship for Hairdressing and is currently the Association’s first Global Ambassador.
