Errol Douglas Unplugged

Fellowship Hairdresser of the Year Errol Douglas MBE held his Unplugged evening with a myriad of career highlights, stories from his hair journey, and some incredible live hairdressing.

In front of a star-studded audience at Shoreditch Studios in London, Karine Jackson acted as compere for the relaxed, informal, and inspirational evening that celebrated Errol’s career from when he was a member of the F.A.M.E. Team in 1994.

Working on four textured hairstyles, Errol talked about where he got his inspiration and how he interpreted trends for his clients. “There are so many images and things to inspire us, you can interpret ideas, but you have to be original,” he stated.

Nominated for British Hairdresser of the Year more times than anyone else, Errol went through his archives of beautiful imagery, describing the stories and memories behind some of his favourite photographs and talked about the importance of working with the right people at the right time. “You have to know when to be creative, and when to be commercial. The images I create for awards aren’t for my clients; they are to inspire the industry and allow me to be creative.”

Errol talked about the importance of collaboration and photographer Chris Bulezuik captured the finished looks to create the night’s mini collection.

While top-name hairdressers such as Angelo Seminara, Cos Sakkas, Rick Roberts, Robert Eaton, Ken Picton and Jamie Brooks were in the audience, other stylists sent video messages – Chris Appleton, Ashleigh Hodges, Craig Chapman and many more.

The evening finished with drinks, supplied by sponsor Domaine des Jeanne and a catwalk presentation of the finished looks.
