Share

There were celebrations all round as Manchester hairdressers Sharon Peake and Adam Bryant of Ethos were awarded the title of Schwarzkopf Professional British Colour Technician of the Year at the prestigious British Hairdressing Awards.

For their second big win of the night, co-director in Ethos, Adam Bryant was also presented with the award for North Western Hairdresser of the Year. It is the fifth time that the Ethos business has won this prestigious title naming them as the best hairdressing salon in the North West.

Held in the glamorous Grosvenor House Hotel in London’s Park Lane, the British Hairdressing Awards, now in its 29th year, are the ‘Oscars’ of the hairdressing industry. The British Hairdressing Awards, presented by Hairdressers Journal International and sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional was compered by media personality David Walliams and supported by 2,000 guests from the world of hairdressing, fashion and media.

Sharon and Adam of Ethos Hairdressing were the only finalists from Manchester to make it through to the final of the acclaimed British Hairdressing Awards, which are regarded as the most recognised within the hairdressing industry. Sharon and Adam competed against six other talented stylists within the much sought-after category of British Colour Technician of the Year and were absolutely overwhelmed to win this prestigious title. Commenting on the win Sharon said,

We are delighted that we won the Schwarzkopf Professional Colour Technician of the Year award, we knew we were up against some of the top colourists in the UK and it makes us proud to bring both these coveted titles and trophies back to Manchester. Our brilliant team and clients from our Chorlton and Northern Quarter salons are enjoying the celebration almost as much as we are – bringing this back to Manchester is a dream come true – it’s like the Oscars and the hairdressing X Factor rolled into one!

After receiving his awards Adam exclaimed,

To be crowned North Western Hairdresser of the Year and Schwarzkopf Professional Colour Technician of the Year with Sharon is absolutely brilliant. It was such a fantastic feeling and an honour when they announced it. I am still on cloud nine now! We work hard on our collections and a lot of research going into our inspirations to create a piece that is artistic and eye catching but wearable as we want our work to appeal to our clients too. Everyone is so excited, the salon is buzzing! Though for us, it’s great to bring the awards home to Manchester.

Jayne Lewis-Orr, Publishing Director of Hairdressers Journal International commented,

Each year the standard of entries sets the benchmark for the rest of the hairdressing industry to follow, and the winners this year demonstrated an absolute commitment to their craft. British hairdressing is perceived throughout the world as being the best, and the British Hairdressing Awards recognise and reward creativity and excellence in all hairdressing skills. Adam and Sharon should be very proud of winning this award.
