F.A.M.E. Team with Adam Reed

Our lucky F.A.M.E. Team recently spent the day with renowned session stylist Adam Reed at the ghd Studio in London to talk session styling, editorial hair and how Instagram shoots are the next big thing for the hairdressers of the moment.

Little introduction was needed, as Adam’s fashion, beauty and hair work around the world with brands such as ghd, has elevated him to being one of the country’s most successful session stylists. With this in mind, he took the F.A.M.E. Team through the fundamental techniques for session styling editorial hair. He shared his inspiring career journey, making sure to be honest about the hard work and commitment needed to reach the top.

The key is to never ever stop learning, says Adam, I decided to do an ‘Insta shoot’ with the team. I thought it would be great to record and share the looks we did on the day on social media and portray our day in imagery.

The team worked with Adam on a model, focussing on the importance of hair prep in order to create 12 different looks, proving that the right prep allows you to do anything.

Although hair prep may be quite basic, the basic skills are what will stay with you for your whole career and it’s how you adapt these that will make you stand out from the crowd, says Adam, I really do believe that if you don’t have a great basic skill set, especially in this day and age, then prepare yourself to be left behind.
