Fellowship for British Hairdressing held its AGM

Share

After an unprecedented 12 months, the Fellowship for British Hairdressing looked back at the challenges and the opportunities for the future.

Hosted by President Ken Picton, the meeting started with a look at its three-year plan to modernise its perception and offerings in the industry. From being more inclusive and diverse while maintaining creative opportunities, Ken detailed how the Fellowship carried on when the rest of the industry was forced to close its doors:

Thanks to our new digital platform, KNOWLEDGE, we have been able to bring an exciting programme to a regional audience, as well as enabling us to access a global market. The Fellowship is about creativity and opportunity and that is what makes us so unique. Let us make 2020 the benchmark of change and shape the future of this industry together.

The informal digital sessions included Drinks with the President, Sunday Showdown and Life Stories, bringing top-name inspiration to the living room of hairdressers around the world.

Chair Barry Stephens gave an update to membership options, which, for 2021, sees members able to pay monthly for the first time; £19.95 a month for a full member, £5.95 a month for ClubStar members:

We have made huge inroads into our three-year plan by updating our Membership Model and upgrading our Sponsorship Packages, and we shall continue to modernise the Fellowship to ensure that we are able to grow in the “New Normal World” that we find ourselves in. We see collaboration with other like-minded organisations as the way forward. These enable us to help and guide young people coming into the industry. We also offer opportunities and inspiration to salon owners and their stylists and to fully embrace the changing face of the industry. We want to offer a range of products and services that attract and engage with all professional hairdressers from across our industry.
