Fellowship Members’ Night

Share

Friends of the Fellowship, salons from around the country, trade press members and supporters for those on the line-up came together recently at Wella World Studios for another fantastic Members’ Night, hosted by President Karine Jackson.

Members’ Night is always a highlight in the Fellowship’s calendar. With young, budding hair stylists taking the stage to get a taste of what it’s like to present hair to an audience, it’s a chance to spot the fresh new industry talent and get a different perspective on the latest trends. Forming the line-up this time around was Academy Salons, Lewis Moore Salons, Elizabeth & Giovanni’s, Hairven, Andrew Smith Salons, Sarai Hair & Beauty, Spargo Hairdressing, The Salon, East Durham College, The Annexx and the HOB Academy Varda Team.

Past F.A.M.E. Team members Jamie Benny from Rush and William Ackerley from Electric also took the stage, joined by former Project X Team member Gareth Williams from Headmasters. The talented trio presented a look each and gave the audience their best advice for applying for Fellowship initiatives, urging anyone thinking about it to put themselves out there.

Special guest Mark Woolley took the hot seat for an interview with Edward Hemmings, talking through where his hairdressing career all began and how he created the Electric Studio and later, Electric Hairdressing. Speaking fondly of his journey to date, he described being a hairdresser as the ‘nearest thing to being a Rockstar’!

With everything from glamorous blondes to modernised grunge and theatrical Avant-garde, the standard of hair work was fantastic. Speaking of his experience on stage, Andrew Smith of Andrew Smith Salons says, “I was delighted to be invited onto the Fellowship stage and have the opportunity to present my vision to such an inspirational group of talent. I am passionate about learning and evolving as a hair artist and this event is full of opportunity. To be able to present and then welcome feedback from some of the industry’s finest and most respected figures was incredible.”
