The Freelance Hairdressers Association’s (FHA) Freelance Awards are now open for 2025!

The FHA is thrilled to announce that entries are now open for the FHA Freelance Awards 2025 - the ultimate celebration of creativity, skill, and excellence within the freelance hairdressing community.

These prestigious awards highlight the passion and dedication of independent hairdressers across the UK, offering a platform to elevate your craft and showcase your talent.

Who Can Enter?

This competition is open to all freelance/self-employed insured hairdressers in the UK. Both members and non-members of the FHA are welcome to participate.

How to Enter

  • It’s simple! Entering takes less than 10 minutes.
  • Take a few photos of your work.
  • Write a short description about yourself and your craft.
  • Complete an entry form

Key Dates

  • Closing Date for Entries: 28th February 2025
  • Finalists Announced: Finalists must be available to attend the Inspire! Event on 8th June 2025.

  • The Freelance Vivid Colour Award: Show off your bold, bright, and fearless colour creations.
  • The Freelance Avant Garde Award: For the bold and boundary breaking. Show off your experimental side with an avant-garde look that’s uniquely yours.
  • The Freelance Colour Award: For colour innovators who bring brilliance and creativity to every shade. Whether bold, bespoke, or trendsetting, this is your platform to shine.
  • The Freelance Barber Award: Celebrate your barbering skills with a standout look, from sleek fades to vintage flair. This is where precision meets creativity.
  • The Freelance Texture Award: For those who bring curls to life. Showcase your expertise in enhancing natural texture with lasting impact and style.
  • The Freelance Red Carpet/Bridal Award: From party glitz to the red carpet, showcase elegant, original styles that make any big moment unforgettable.
  • The Freelance Stylist Award: For stylists who lead with creativity and set trends. Share your unique style and inspire with your innovative techniques.
General Rules
  • You can enter multiple categories (one entry per category).
  • Entries must be original and not paid work.
  • Photos may be used for FHA promotional purposes.
  • Judging will be conducted by a panel of leading hairdressers, industry experts, and press.
