Good Salon Guide Artists Wow Colour World Audiences

Share

Good Salon Guide was proud to be among the amazing sponsors of this year’s Colour World London. It was our first time at this fabulous hands-on event, where hairdressers from across the UK and abroad come to see the world’s top colour artists in action.

For us, Colour World was first and foremost a chance to showcase the talent of four fantastic GSG members, after holding an online competition to find four stylists to represent us on the Colour Shair.

First up was the incredibly creative Andrew Smith of Andrew Smith Salons who presented two models, one male and one female, demonstrating how creative colour placement is key to achieving a variety of finished looks. Andrew’s beautiful soft yellows, greens and blues literally shimmered and drew lots of interest from the crowd. As a member of the milk_shake Artistic Team, Andrew is passionate about creative colouring and loved the chance to share his knowledge. He added:

At Colour World, because you work on the floor and not on stage, you can get up close and personal to everyone. The audience can ask questions in an informal way which allows 100% transparency in the advice you give. It’s a great way to show others what you do and why you are so passionate about it!

Next up was the current Good Salon Guide Nation’s Favourite Hairdresser, Kelly Shone-Adams of Technocracy Hair. Kelly, who is an ambassador for Mood Hair Colour, created a beautiful mix of vibrant pink tones with hints of orange which cascaded down her model’s loose waves. Kelly also represented us on the Colour Genius panel of hair experts discussing how to manage client expectations alongside Global Head of Technical Training at Fudge Professional, Tracy Hayes. Kelly said:

It was great to see so many respected colour creatives and colour brands coming together to showcase their work and share knowledge. I personally gained so much knowledge and met many members of the hair family. I will proudly look back on Colour World 2019 for many years to come.

Adele Clarke of Spectrum Hair Company has years of experience working with hair colour and was thrilled to be among the winners of our competition. She chose to demonstrate the difference in finish between using direct dyes with OSMO as opposed to oxidising colours. She said:

Getting to present my Osmo Ikon and Osmo Colour Psycho creations to the audience at Colour World, in front of so many respected artists in the industry, was the highlight of my year so far.

The stunning violet vibes created by Adele have produced a huge surge of engagement on social media and, best of all, the salon has benefited. Adele added:

Being Good Salon Guide members has always helped us win new clients, but after our images at Colour World have been shared so widely, we have seen an increase in bookings.

Closing our time at Colour World was colour expert supreme and International Redken Educator, Michelle Marshall of Michelle Marshall Salon. As a first timer at Colour World, Michelle quickly found her renowned colour expertise drew a big audience of fellow hair professionals keen to watch her colour techniques. Michelle demonstrated how to beautifully blend popular shades of pink and orange with a pop of bold colour to break up the tones and create interest and texture.

She absolutely loved everything about her Colour World experience and was also passionate about telling audiences how being part of Good Salon Guide and having the Colour Expert award is a real badge of honour. She added:

To work alongside and talk to so many like minded individuals was superb. The event is very interactive which means you can approach everyone.

For us at Good Salon Guide, Colour World reaffirmed how amazing the hair industry is and how lucky we are to be a central part of it.  We can’t wait until next year for more of the same and, in our opinion; the show is a must for everyone who loves hair. We think the wonderful Michelle summed it up best with her final take on the event:

No matter where you are in your own personal hairdressing journey, everyone talked the same language - HAIR.

Thank you to all our wonderful Colour World artists and their stunning models!
