Great Lengths Celebrates Earth Day

Share

This Earth Day, Great Lengths is proud to celebrate its ongoing commitment to sustainability, ethical sourcing and circular beauty.

As the first hair extensions brand globally to achieve B Corp certification, Great Lengths continues to lead by example, proving that luxury and responsibility can go hand-in-hand. From ethically sourced hair donated in Indian temples, to initiatives that give used extensions a second life through The Little Princess Trust, Great Lengths is passionate about reducing its beauty footprint at every stage of the journey.

“Earth Day is a chance to reflect on the choices we make as individuals and as an industry,” says Mark Davison, CEO of HB Collective. “For a long time, Great Lengths has understood the importance of operating an ethical, inclusive business that not only considers the world around it but also benefits it. We are incredibly proud to be the first extension company globally to be awarded B Corp certification, which recognises our ongoing commitment to sustainability and positive social impact.”

The B Corp certification is a remarkable achievement that not only recognises the efforts Great Lengths has made but also highlights the initiatives the brand has taken to be more inclusive at all levels. From the welfare of its employees and the trust of its consumers to working towards reducing the beauty footprint of the entire production chain, being a B Corp requires ethical business practices, creating a circle where community, business, and environment are interlinked and mutually beneficial. As the world’s leading name in human hair extensions, Great Lengths hopes to use its influence for good and encourage others to consider the differences they can make.

Great Lengths is committed to maintaining a fully circular and transparent supply chain for its hair extensions. At the heart of the brand is a dedication to ethical sourcing, with procedures in place to uphold both quality and integrity. All hair is sourced through voluntary donations made during the traditional Hindu practice of tonsuring in temples. Each contribution is given with full consent, and the proceeds are reinvested to support the surrounding communities.

Great Lengths also has a global partnership with The Little Princess Trust, offering a unique donation scheme. Extension clients have the opportunity to change lives by donating their removed extensions to the charity, which are then made into wigs and provided free of charge to children and young people who have lost their own hair due to cancer treatment or other conditions. As the only extensions brand accepted by the charity due to the premium quality of its hair, Great Lengths is proud to play a part in this life-changing initiative. During Earth Month, it serves as a reminder that every action, big or small, can contribute to a more sustainable and compassionate world.

In over 60 countries and 1500+ salons across the UK and Ireland, Great Lengths continues to encourage small steps that make a big difference – from recycling hair to supporting local communities, to inspiring other brands to prioritise transparency and impact.
