State Registration is easier than ever through the new Hair Council website.
The Hair Council is marking its 60th year of raising industry standards by making some improvements of its own, with a brand-new website and professional look.
The new website, haircouncil.org.uk, is a much-needed resource for all professional hairdressers and barbers. Not only is it the place to go to become State Registered, but it’s the only platform that showcases the outstanding ways in which the Hair Council are representing the sector, as well as being a valuable support hub for its members.
State Registration is essential for anyone who wants to be given the respect that their training deserves, and becoming a member of the Hair Council is the first step in achieving this. “We are the only statutory authority for hairdressing in Great Britain and our mission is to raise standards in the industry. Our rebrand has given us the opportunity to push ahead and represent our members at the highest level,” says The Hair Council Registrar & Chief Executive, Gareth Penn.
The Hair Council’s mission for mandatory registration has never been greater. With no current compulsory register in place, the government is unaware how many people work in British hairdressing, which leaves the sector massively underrepresented. “Since last year’s Budget we have met with government ministers and civil servants to clearly make the case that the impact the budget has had on high street salons, combined with spiralling costs, has led to an unsure future for salons and apprentices,” says Gareth.
The new Hair Council website is an essential tool for anyone wanting to become a State Registered Hairdresser or Barber and ensures this status is maximised. State Registered Hairdressers and Barbers are listed on the directory, which is available on the new Hair Council website.
On the site, hairdressers and barbers can register as individuals or as a team. Once their qualifications and training are verified, they become State Registered and get a certificate of registration. “It’s never been so important to show your professional status and use this badge of honour,” Gareth adds.
The other essential element that the site offers, is an educational platform like no other, with a catalogue of engaging and informative webinars, tailored specifically to inspire and motivate its members. There’s also an area with the latest news from our industry, all in an easy to navigate site.
British hairdressing has always been seen as the best in the world, and the Hair Council intends to continue its campaign to build industry standards. Its new website is professional, modern and an essential platform for all hair professionals.
