Nelson Brown assists the ultra-amazing Sam McKnight, the world's greatest hairstylist, and is part of ‘Team McKnight’, working backstage at Paris, London, and Milan Fashion Weeks. From Paris Couture to Men’s Fashion Week, his bank of knowledge is endless.
With all these skills and experiences together, NB is excited to bring a wealth of international hairdressing experience back to his region - Dumfries & Galloway.

Split into three sessions, these seminars are perfect for newly qualified or experienced stylists who would like to level up their skills or who would simply benefit from an energising day in the company of like-minded people.
CLASSIC CUTTING – 13th August 2022
Layering, Graduation, One Length cutting…
Scared of a bob or pixie cut? You’re not alone. This one’s for you!
This course will help you gain the confidence and give you tools to finely tune, tweak, and refine the classic shaped haircuts. The day will cover all the key points of working with short, mid-length, and long hair.
How should you hold the hair in your fingers? What’s the right tension required during cutting? How should you negotiate growth patterns and different crowns? Fringes – where should they start? Where should they end? Scissors, combs, clippers… We’re going to discuss it all to ensure you leave knowing how to maximise the result for your client.
Is there a haircut that scares you? Well, this is the time to learn the ‘CLASSICS’ and overcome the fear.

Embrace the Curls…
In the current climate, the importance of how to style curly hair has been overlooked. Many people are unaware of how to cut it, style it and most importantly – what products to use on it to maintain the shape. Most stylists approach curly hair in the same way that they would approach straight hair.
This course will show you the differences and will give you the knowledge to deliver the correct curly process.
