Hairven Salon, based in Gedling, Nottingham have now won their fifth major award in only two years! The salon won the coveted title of 'New Business of the Year 2014' at a prestigious ceremony held at the East Midlands Conference Centre earlier this month.
The event, organised by Champions UK Plc, was attended by Nottingham's most talented businesses along with sponsors Freeth Cartwright. All whom came together to celebrate the best in business in Nottingham.
Hairven has been in business for just two years, and in that time they have certainly made their mark winning award after award, including the English Hair & Beauty Awards title of 'East Midlands Hair Salon of the Year', and now adding 'New Business of the Year' to their list.
Salon owner Collette Osborne turned her back on her career in accounting to open the Gedling salon after being inspired by her mother-in-law Wendy, who was battling breast cancer. After Wendy had a negative experience in a hairdressers, Collette – who has always had an interest in hair – vowed to open a salon of her own. Unfortunately, Wendy passed away before the salon opened, so Collette dedicated Hairven to her memory. Speaking of her latest success, Collette said,
We are overwhelmed and delighted at this latest accolade. We are so proud to be amongst the best businesses in Nottingham! We cannot believe we won this amazing title after only winning The East Midlands Hair Salon of the Year 2014 only four weeks ago for the second year running!
Today, Hairven employs 15 people and serves an average of 220 clients every week. Hairven really can claim to be a cut above; a huge waiting list of new customers has seen the salon treble in size, launching their new salon to over 500 guests and raising funds for the Make A Wish Foundation UK.
