Headquarters Kingston’s eager young apprentices were recently involved in an in-salon competition with a Rainbow Flag theme.

Six teams, consisting of an apprentice mentored by a senior stylist, participated in this colourful challenge. The spectacular end results wowed the judges, Robert Masciave of Metropolis, Yesmine O’Brian from Sean Hanna and Julie Allen, MD of Joolspr.

Charlotte Rose Powell was awarded first place with her spectacular look involving pop-art pastel coloured extensions and a cowboy hat. Charlotte explained:

It was an amazing experience and I learnt so much - from the original concept to our preparation and presentation. I really enjoyed using new colours and techniques on my model. I managed to create a theme that really appealed to the judges and I'm so proud that I won!

Charlotte was awarded a place on a L’Oreal education course. Runner-up, Connor Mynott-Thain, and 3rd place, Erin Fullerton, received a selection of L'Oreal Professionnel products.

Victor Pajak, Salon Director of Headquarters, commented:

I was looking for each member to interpret current catwalk trends and communicate an innovative vision for 2020. The idea for the evening was to make the team more confident with presentation work. It was also great for education, motivation and inspiration. I was so proud of the levels of enthusiasm, passion and enjoyment shown by the participants. The results were just stunning; it’s been a great success all round.
