Share

Last week, as the finest names in the fashion and beauty industry came together for ‘Debut’ - Henry Holland’s inaugural fashion fundraising event in aid of Cancer Research UK - HOB Salons’ expertise was requested backstage as the award-winning group were on hand for everything hair!

Held at One Mayfair on Thursday 24th March, the high profile occasion to raise money for research into gynaecological cancers saw the expert HOB Salons team creating low-slung ponytails to complement Henry’s clothing designs.  The HOB team - headed up by Camden’s Mirka Hajdava and supported by Sebastian Cult member and HOB West Hampstead’s Stuart Garvey, HOB Radlett’s Sophie Sugarman and HOB Camden’s Levi Hayes - kept the hair looks textured, simple and chic to capture the trends for the season.

Presented by T4’s Miquita Oliver and Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw, the evening opened with a welcoming by Henry Holland who spoke about his dedication to the charity, his excitement for his debut and thanked all contributors to the night including HOB Salons, before the highly anticipated fashion show got underway.

Watched by celebrities in attendance including Pixie Geldof and James Corden, in addition to celeb DJ Agyness Deyn, the models took to the stage showcasing the must-have looks.

Speaking at the event, HOB Salons Session Team member Mirka commented:

Working with Henry Holland this evening has been fantastic and the great cause has given way to a really lovely evening. Tonight we wanted to create a look that was wearable but still had that catwalk feel so opted for the low-slung pony with strong partings and soft texture.

As the guests relished the Debut, they were also treated to an ongoing auction to celebrate British fashion with featured contributions from leading designers, artists, photographers and models including Kate Moss, Alexandra Shulman, Rankin, Mary Quant and many more.

Speaking of the nights success, Henry Holland said:

I’m overwhelmed by the support we’ve had from the industry in putting this event together. Hopefully, we’ll return next year with a bigger and even better event!

To achieve the on-trend pony created by the HOB Team for the event, simply follow these 3 steps:

Step 1: Begin by placing the hair in its natural parting and spray Wella Professionals Perfect Setting on the root. Using a Denman brush, blow-dry the product into the hair for added control and perfect definition.

Step 2: After blow-drying the hair, spray more Wella Perfect Setting to the root area giving the hair a rustic and textured matte finish. Next, loosely pull the hair back into a low ponytail at the nape of the neck and secure with an elastic band.

Step 3: To enhance that unkempt look, using the tail end of a comb, tease the top of the ponytail pulling the elastic band away from the head to give added looseness and a more dishevelled finish.
