International Celebrity Colourist Joins Local Salon

Former international celebrity colourist, Mark Kees, who has worked for celebrities such as Nicole Kidman, Victoria Secret Models, Spice Girls, Joan Collins and Steven Spielberg, has joined Hair Lounge in Kelvedon.

Born in 1970, Mark knew from the age of eight that he wanted to be a hairstylist because of the inspiration from his mother who worked in the industry.

I knew from a young age that my life’s journey was to inspire and create.

Specialising in colour and hair extensions, Mark’s craft has taken him all over the world. His first experience of working with international clients was at the famous President Hotel in Russell Square, London. He was then recruited to Trendco which is Britain’s leading wig and hairpiece specialist, which gave him exposure to working with A-list celebrities.

Working with celebrities such as Shirley Bassey, Joan Collins and fashion model Iman helped me to master my art of creativity, and I drew satisfaction from my ability to deliver above and beyond their expectations, recalls Mark.

Mark moved on to work on Cunard Cruise Lines and had fashion icon Maria Helvin and international director Steven Spielberg as clients.

Steven Spielberg would often stay on the cruise line for months writing scripts and would look forward to his haircuts with me as a way to relax and enjoy the experience.

Mark worked at the renowned Regis Hair and Beauty in London and enjoyed sharing his experiences, skills and knowledge with the team so that every team member would be inspired to deliver the best service to clients.

Mark is now 46 and has fallen in love with Essex where he has recently moved to. He has been looking to join a salon that shares his ethos and standards.

I wanted to join a salon that shared my passion and creativity for delivering the very best to clients in a lovely atmosphere, which I found at Hair Lounge.

Although I am an all-round stylist, I specialise in colour and am looking forward to bringing my mastery in colour techniques such as Balayage, Ombre and Sombre to Essex.
