Proving that they can stand head-to-head with the best in the world, Sean Taaffe, the owner of the multi award-winning Sean Taaffe Hair & Beauty Group - along with his colleagues from Team Ireland - took 3rd place overall in the OMC World Cup in Hairdressing last weekend. This prestigious international win is the second major accolade for the successful Kerry based hair and beauty group in recent months, with their Style Director, Marta Plechowska, scooping the 2014 IHF Irish Hairdresser of the Year in March.

The OMC World Cup in Hairdressing took place in Frankfurt, Germany from the 3rd to the 5th of May. Over 1,300 competitors competed in 38 tests with 50 countries in the event. There were 13 Irish competitors from all over the country and they competed in six tests, with excellent placements in all categories. Four members of the Irish team, Sean Taaffe (MD of Sean Taaffe Group), Wayne Partridge and Aaron Healy (Wayne Lloyd) and Bridget Haren (Altamonda Salon) jointly competed in the senior ladies progressive fashion and cut and colour tests. As a team they scooped a 4th placement in the progressive fashion and 3rd place overall in the World Cup.

Maeve O'Healy-Harte, Team Ireland manager said,

It was fantastic to see four of the Irish Team on stage together winning the bronze medals. It was a very proud moment for all the Irish. In the ten years I have managed the team it was my proudest moment as the team medals are the hardest to win.

Sean Taaffe, MD of the Sean Taaffe Hair & Beauty Group said,

Winning at the World Championships in Germany was the culmination of many months of careful preparation and sheer determination to bring back a medal to Ireland - and to Kerry! We hope our many clients will be the ultimate winners as everyone in the Sean Taaffe Group strives to achieve perfection and bring the latest trends and innovations in hair care back to our salons. We believe everyone can have beautiful hair and winning awards at this level is an acknowledgement of our groups commitment to achieving the highest international standards. Well done to everyone and thanks to the Team Manager, Maeve O’Healy-Harte.
