Introducing 2018’s Fellowship Teams

Share

All of the Fellowship’s shiny new team members came together in January for their introductory sessions with their mentors, to get to know one another and hear all about what’s in store for them in what promises to be the best year of their careers yet...

F.A.M.E. Team

The setting for the new F.A.M.E. Team’s day was the inspiring surroundings of Anthony and Pat Mascolo’s Library Space on Battersea Park Road in London. Their mentor Nick Irwin shared the news that the team will be following in the footsteps of 2017’s team, and heading across the world to Sydney in Australia for Hair Expo with BaByliss PRO. The team were also lucky enough to be gifted any stylists dream – a huge bundle of BaByliss PRO products and tools to help them with their creations throughout the year and beyond. The day ended with an invitation from Fellowship President Karine Jackson to the Basquiat exhibition at the Barbican, for a healthy dose of inspiration, getting the F.A.M.E. Team journey off to the perfect start.

Mentor Nick Irwin says,

It was great to finally meet my new F.A.M.E. Team for 2018 and spend the day getting to know them. Their energy levels were fantastic, and I truly believe that we have an incredible year ahead of us. I was so excited to share details of some of the brilliant things we have planned for them, including amazing education days and the trip of a lifetime to Australia for Hair Expo in June! Massive thanks to Anthony and Pat Mascolo for the use of their inspiring Library Space.

Colour Project

This year’s Colour Project Team kicked off their year with an introductory session and a presentation skills workshop at the RUSH Academy in London. Mentor Chris Williams led the session, getting the team up to speed with the exciting calendar he has planned for 2018, and Simon Shaw from Simon Shaw Education was on hand to deliver the team their first dose of education with a presentation skills session. The aim was to break the ice, build the team’s confidence and get equipped with a few essential tips and techniques on the perfect presentation, putting them in good stead for all the exciting opportunities coming their way this year.

Team member Caitlin Haynes from Idlewild Hairdressing says,

I took so much away from our first day! I am really looking forward to this year and I can’t wait to pick up a tint brush and start some colouring. Bring on meeting some fantastic inspirational people and spending my year alongside some of the most talented individuals!

Project X

2018’s Project X team headed to the ghd Academy in London for their first day together, with mentor Kai Wan and presentation whizz Edward Hemmings from Alan d Education. Kai led the introductory session, laying out the plans for the year and getting the team ready for the journey ahead before handing over to Edward Hemmings, who spent the rest of the session helping the team perfect their presentation skills. Each team member had put together a mood board based on something special to them, which they stood up and showed the rest of the team – the perfect way to get to know each other whilst building on their public speaking skills. Edward guided them through, with pointers and tips that will be instrumental throughout their year. Once Edward had given each member their feedback, they were invited back up to the front to redeliver their new and improved presentation. To top off a fabulous first day, industry icon Lee Stafford popped in for a surprise visit whilst passing to meet the team and congratulate them on the beginning of their journey.

Team member Eloise Dudley from Francesco Group says,

I am so excited for what this year will bring. I have learnt so much already and it is just the beginning. I feel so lucky that Kai Wan is our mentor for the year. He is such an inspiration and I can’t wait for our photo shoot with him!

ClubStar

The ClubStar Art Team’s first get-together of 2018 took place at the Alan d Academy in London. They met with their mentor Simon Tuckwell who spent the day getting to know them and helping them to bond as a team. Simon began the day by talking his team through his own journey with the Fellowship that began as a ClubStar member.

It’s amazing how ClubStar helps people’s careers, says Simon, each year it goes from strength to strength and I can’t thank the mentors enough for what they offer to members.

For the Art Team, Simon has some incredible mentors lined up ready to give up their time to pass on their industry knowledge to these eight young hairdressers, including presentation skills with Debbie G and a photo shoot with Hooker & Young. Simon talked the team through how to make the most of their social media platforms, with their profile’s being raised in the industry throughout the year, giving them his best tips and tricks on how best to present themselves.

Simon says,

The team’s first day was incredible. They are such a strong team and I cannot wait to see how their year goes. Each member is so talented and has such passion for this industry. They are all definitely going to be ones to watch in the future and I am glad I get to be a part of their journey!
