Jamie Stevens Hair Appoints Smith & Monger

Smith & Monger has been appointed to handle the PR for award-winning celebrity hair stylist, Jamie Stevens and his two eponymous salons in London and Somerset. At 31 years old, Jamie Stevens has firmly established himself as one of the industry’s hottest hair stylists, since becoming one of the youngest ever contenders for the covetable HJ’s British Hairdresser of the Year Award.

His enviable CV includes owning his first salon at 18 years old before moving to London to work alongside hairdressing luminaries such as Daniel Hersheson, Beverley C and latterly Errol Douglas, where he worked for over 7 years as Art Director; styling the hair of celebrities including Kylie, Stella McCartney, Elle McPherson, Eva Herzigova, Myleene Klass, Little Mix, Emilia Fox, Christian Slater and Hugh Grant; being hairdresser of choice for TV shows including This Morning, Gok’s Fashion Fix, How to Look Good Naked and The X Factor; and securing an ambassadorial role for professional L’Oreal haircare brand Matrix, where he is part of the exclusive Matrix Global Design Team, all whilst maintaining a fiercely loyal clientele.

Thrice nominated for the British Hairdressing Awards London Hairdresser of the Year title, other accolades to Jamie’s name include twice winning the Men’s Hairdresser of the Year Award in 2011 & 2008 and the Clothes Show Live Celebrity Hairdresser of the Year in 2010. Numerous other award wins and nominations recognise his talent and versatile skills in Afro and men’s hairdressing as well as being at the forefront of cutting-edge hair fashion trends for women.

This year, Jamie launched his first London salon in Kensington with a team of carefully chosen experts, offering a full range of cutting, colouring and styling services with bespoke treatments for both men and women. Current projects include the new series of The X Factor where he is hairdresser-in-residence and will be styling the contestants hair each week. In addition to receiving his first ever HJ’s British Hairdresser of the Year nomination, Jamie is also a finalist in the London, Men’s and Afro Hairdresser of the Year categories at this year’s British Hairdressing Awards, whilst salon team member Jonathan Andrews is shortlisted for the Newcomer of the Year Award, to be announced in November 2012.
