Celebrity Hairdresser of the Year and current BHA Men’s Hairdresser of the Year Jamie Stevens, who is resident hairdresser on The X Factor, This Morning and How to Look Good Naked has been nominated as one of 8 hairdressers at the top of their game for this year’s British Hairdressing Awards. Chosen by a select group of industry experts, beauty journalists and international trade press, Jamie is amongst the most respected hairdressers in the industry.

The British Hairdressing Awards are run in conjunction with industry bible, Hairdressers Journal, and the winner will be announced at Grosvenor House on Monday 26th November 2012. The nomination illustrates his incredible talent and standing within the industry.

This is Jamie’s first nomination for British Hairdresser of the Year but he is no stranger to the awards, having been twice named BHA Men’s Hairdresser of the Year along with 3 nominations for London Hairdresser of the Year and 2 for Afro Hairdresser of the Year.

At just 31 years old, Jamie is hairdressing’s hottest prospect – talented with all types of hair, at home in both the salon and on TV, and loved by celebs and clients alike. A global ambassador for Matrix haircare, Jamie has just opened his first London salon in Kensington, as well as running his own eponymous salon in Woolavington, Somerset. Name-checked by the likes of Adam Reed, Jamie is also an active member of the hairdressing industry and works with GHD and the fellowship for British Hairdressing among others. Last month he won 3 English Hair and Beauty Awards.

Jamie’s history includes his own salon at 18; working for Beverly C, Daniel Hersheson and Errol Douglas; and shoots and cuts for the likes of Kylie, Stella McCartney, Elle Macpherson, Eva Herzigova, Myleene Klass, Emilia Fox, Little Mix, Hugh Grant, Christian Slater, and Gok Wan to name a few.

Jamie says,

Words can’t really describe how I feel, this is what I've been working towards for the last 10 years so being nominated for British Hairdresser of the Year is a dream come true. To have my name against some of the legends of the industry is a massive honour and achievement and I can’t say thank you enough to everybody who’s helped me get there.
