For the third year running at London Fashion Week, this year’s Scottish Hairdresser of the Year, Matrix Educator and Owner of KAM Hair and Body Spa in Lossiemouth and her team were invited back to style the models for the Johnston’s of Elgin Autumn/Winter 2019 show, using hair products from Matrix.

This Autumn/Winter season sees the Johnston’s of Elgin collections at their very best with inspiration from the Golden age of the Empire and travel - the 1920s and 1930s, and featuring colours that are opulent and deep, with new shapes developed showcasing exquisite tailoring in exemplary Scottish-made fabrics.

To compliment the fabrics and showcased looks, Karen and stylists from the KAM Hair and Body Spa salon, Amy and Tori, created beautiful, natural looking hair that was left down and had a very soft finish. The team also wanted to provide the hair looks with some lift and a gorgeous shine, which they achieved by using Biolage RAW Smoothing Milk from Matrix and blow-drying the hair at the roots and around the face and then finishing off by using the hairdryer with the nozzle pointed downwards from the mid-lengths and ends to give the hair smoothness and shine. The team also provided the models with strong side and middle partings and had the hair pushed behind the models ears for a more dramatic look. For those with natural curs, the team used Biolage Raw Curl Defining Styling Butter to give the hair gorgeous texture and definition throughout. Male models were provided with a very defined side parting and the rest of the hair was raised for volume but left with a smooth finish.

Karen Thomson, Owner of KAM Hair and Body Spa, commented,

This was our third year at London Fashion Week with Johnston’s of Elgin and as always, it was an absolute honor to be there and lead the team with Karen McDougall. I absolutely love the new collection, it’s stunning and I’m so proud to be able to work with the brand and I love where it’s going. I can’t thank my team enough for their hard work on the day – it was incredibly busy with 30 models in total but we all had such a fantastic day.
