The News’ Hair and Beauty Awards returned for their sixth year with a spectacular gala dinner and party at Portsmouth Guildhall.
As hundreds of people partied the night away, the winners of 14 categories were announced.
One of those category winners was Kate Preston, who took the Lifetime Achievement Award after she was nominated by staff at her Fareham salon. Kate said,
It is unbelievable. The thing that makes it so emotional is that it was my staff that put me up for this award. It makes everything I do worthwhile. They are such a great team so I am absolutely thrilled to win.
More than 320 people attended the night, which was hosted by TV beauty expert Gina Akers.
Liz Parker, event’s organiser, said,
It was a truly great night and one that gets bigger and better every year.
It is an inspirational evening, watching people get the recognition they deserve. I truly thank the sponsors for their support in making the night such a great one.
DJ Dan Morton took to the decks after the presentations, before the after party was held at Astoria.
