Lisa Arkley-Davies, Salon Manager at Spirit Hair Team, beat off stiff competition to win Second Prize in The British Bride at the Britain’s Best Awards 2012.
Britain’s Best, the most innovative, interactive hairdressing event of the year took place in November at the Birmingham NEC Hilton Metropole Hotel. The star studded event was full of intense competition on the floor with hairdressers from all over the country competing for the coveted Britain’s Best title in eleven separate categories. Competitors, spectators, and models also had the opportunity to meet celebrity stylist Lee Stafford, who was there supporting the NHF.
The physical competition was just a small part of this brand new event applauding and celebrating all that is great about British hairdressing and barbering. Central to this event was a text vote popularity poll where clients, peers, friends and colleagues, nominated and then voted for their favourites to win in six Britain’s Best categories. Nominations of the highest number of vote were crowned Britain’s Best!
The third interactive competition titled, Click N Send, asked for hairdressers and barbers to take a snap shot on their smart phone and send in their pictures to be judged. The images were then shortlisted, and entries were asked to recreate the style on the competitor day for scrutiny from three international judges, Bente Soerensen from Denmark, Richard Koffijberg from the Netherlands, and Matti Urjansson from Finland.
