Share

HOB Salons Baker Street colourist, Sean Nolan, has travelled to Frankfurt to take on the globe at one of the most pioneering awards ceremonies, which highlights the best hairdressing talent that the industry has to offer.

Hairdressers and media from all around the world joined at the Hairworld Exhibition to celebrate with Wella Professionals at the International Trend Vision Awards (ITVA), as 82 talented finalists from 56 countries came together to showcase hairdressing excellence.

Beating off stiff competition, Sean’s skills left a great impression on the judges as he stole the Platinum 2nd position marking him as one of the best colourists in the world. Sean now brings the title back with him to the UK to take pride of place in the heart of Baker Street at HOB Salons.

Dedicated to growing the industry’s young talent, this year Wella professionals brought together two of the most anticipated hairdressing events in the calendar; Hairworld and The International Trend Vision Awards. The Wella Professionals International Trend Vision Awards offers young stylists and talented colourists across the globe a platform to showcase their talent and passion to the world. Sean won his place to represent the whole of the UK earlier last year at the UK Final in Camden’s infamous Roundhouse venue.

The jury for the ITVA was composed of an expert panel made up of the two Wella Global Creative Directors, Eugene Souleiman and Josh Wood, six international top stylists and two media representatives. The competition was hosted by Lars Nicolaisen, a German top stylist, and Patrick Cameron, our long-standing, inspiring presenter of the ITVA.

Entries were judged on their technical expertise and creative vision; the understanding of the trend; and the innovation and skill in their colour work and styling abilities.

The ITVA event opened with the inspirational Parade of Nations – one of the many highlights of the spectacular show which saw every hairdresser take to the stage with their country’s flag in a fantastic display of global talent. Then the Bronze, Silver and Gold winners of the 'Photo Vision' competition were announced, followed by an incredible show by Bundy Bundy from Austria.

The audience was wowed by a catwalk show of all the live competition entries, showcasing the hairdressing industry’s best up-and-coming styling skill and color creativity, which was continued with a spectacular AW 14 trend show by Russian top stylist Dimitry Vinokurov, before the final award ceremony revealed the talented Platinum award winners. Speaking on his win Sean Said,

This is the most incredible achievement for me, I started this journey by entering our HOB Salons Internal Photographic Competition and winning that has sent me on an amazing adventure leading me to the Wella Trend Vision Awards, and to think I have now competed internationally is amazing. I cannot wait to see what the year ahead holds.
