Macadamia Natural Oil X Vin + Omi
Taking to London Fashion Week for their first season on the catwalk, Macadamia Natural Oil was the hair product of choice at the Vin + Omi AW18 show on Thursday night.
Backstage at the Andaz Hotel, hours ahead of the event, showcasing their unique eco-textiles, the hair team were hard at work prepping to display the hair inspiration for next season. Using the Macadamia Natural Oil Healing Oil Treatment (RRP £28.99), the creations were cleverly developed by the talented hair team, ready to compliment and consummate the newest Vin and Omi Autumn/ Winter collection on the catwalk.
The inspiration behind the show was to convey and ignite thoughts regarding the waste created by clothes, aptly naming the show, ‘we are not sheep’. With the designer pair making their own textiles, the Macadamia Natural Oil range complimented the theme of the show through the craftsmanship of each hairstyle. Each product in the Macadamia Natural Oil range deeply penetrates each hair strand and works to restore hair from within, mimicking the scalp’s natural oil production to renew dry, damaged and colour treated hair of all textures.
Various hairstyles for the show were sampled weeks before a final decision was made, the day before the event. Creating Gwen Stefani inspired ponytails giving each look an edgy finish, hairstylist, Jake Gallagher, applied a small amount of the Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment to smooth over the scalp before sectioning hair into two. Each piece was secured in to two textured and volumized ponytails before finishing with the Macadamia Natural Oil Healing Oil Treatment to reduce frizz and flyaways.
With over 50 models including iconic actress Jane Horrocks and Game of Thrones actress Laura Pradelska walking the catwalk, the show was introduced via a special installation by Blondie’s Debbie Harry and Matt Katz Bohen. Vin + Omi have a large international celebrity following and have worked with public figures including Pamela Anderson and Michelle Obama.
