Share

Rosie Binns of Ethos Hairdressing in Chorlton has been named one of the UK’s brightest young stars aged 30 and under after reaching the finals in the IT Girl category of national hairdressing competition, The It List.

Having demonstrated skill, original thinking and boundless talent with an impressive portfolio, Rosie beat off stiff nationwide competition to earn her place as one of just five IT Girl finalists. They will now head to The It List Grand Final on Monday 7th September at the Natural History Museum in London, which will be hosted by comedian Jack Whitehall.

Now in its sixth year, The It List Awards – presented by leading industry publication, Creative HEAD and exclusively sponsored by ghd – is the coolest, most credible competition for young British hairdressers. Judged by hair, fashion and business icons including session stylist Johnnie Sapong, celebrity hairdresser Andrew Barton, dotcom entrepreneur Nancy Cruickshank and journalists from top publications including ShortList, they celebrate the up-and-coming stars making their names in UK hairdressing.

There are six titles waiting to be claimed, including The Rising Star, The Fashionista, The Entrepreneur, The Visionary, The It Girl and The It Guy. Each winner will take home a coveted trophy, enjoy a skills-tailored workshop courtesy of ghd and receive priceless editorial coverage in Creative HEAD magazine and online, propelling their profiles into the spotlight.

Previous It List winners have gone on to become ambassadors for global brands, joined the backstage teams at prestigious events including Fashion Weeks all over the world, assisted hairdressing royalty on high profile shoots, and present at exclusive Creative HEAD events. For the talents that take the titles the opportunities are truly endless. Rosie commented,

I am so thrilled to see my name on that list. To even get through to the finals feels an incredible achievement, and I can’t wait for the main event now!

Catherine Handcock, Publisher of Creative HEAD says,

Hairdressing is a trend-driven industry, and these dynamic, creative young people are what keeps everything moving forward in exciting directions. The It List is proud to celebrate this abundance of new talent.
