Marta Plechowska Of The Sean Taaffe Group Wins The 2014 IHF Irish Hairdresser Of The Year

Marta Plechowska, Kerry based style director with the Sean Taaffe Hair & Beauty Group, walked away with the 2014 IHF Irish Hairdresser of the Year title at the annual awards ceremony which was held on Sunday 9th March in Dublin.

The crème de la crème of Irish stylists battled it out at the most prestigious event in the hairdressing industry, the IHF National Hairdressing Championships, in the hopes of being crowned the best in the country. Over 250 seasoned professionals presented more than 300 creative styles to an international panel of leading industry experts who judged on innovativeness, originality and precision in what was undoubtedly the most competitive championships in the IHF’s 40 years.

The day culminated in an electrifying awards ceremony where the winners of the 14 diverse categories were revealed, followed by the announcement of the overall winners of the top accolades. Marta Plechowska of the Sean Taaffe Group, County Kerry, was named the 2014 IHF Irish Hairdresser of the Year, whilst Kristine Eglite of Ultimate Hair and Beauty, Dublin was announced as the 2014 IHF Irish Barber/Men’s Hairdresser of the Year. Danielle Howard of Wayne Lloyd Hairdressing was awarded both the title of IHF Irish Trainee Hairdresser of the Year as well as IHF Junior Team Ireland Member.

Marta Plechowska commented on her win by saying,

I'm absolutely delighted with the results of the IHF competition and very thankful to my team for their fantastic support. I couldn’t have done it without them!

At the awards, Marta also won four additional accolades including Senior Creative Fantasy, Senior Ladies Creative Color, Senior Ladies Long Hair-up and Smart Hair Photographic. She is now officially recognised as the best hairdresser in the country and one of the most celebrated having scooped most of the industry’s major awards over the past three years. She continues to bring this expertise and talent to her loyal clients in the Sean Taaffe Group.

With an estimated 2,300 hair salons in Ireland, the National Hairdressing Championships are the definitive awards for the Irish hairdressing industry, which employs close to 15,000 people.
